Mae Vandermark

Mae Vandermark, also known as Miss Artoria, transitioned from being a stenographer to a tattoo circus performer. It all began when she saw a butterfly tattoo on someone’s shoulder while swimming at Coney Island, which inspired her to get her own tattoos. Under the guidance of Miss Pictoria, Mae embarked on a journey of getting more tattoos and eventually started performing at Coney Island shows. With her newfound stage name and experience, Miss Artoria joined the Ringling Circus. This piece is needle felted, embroidered, and framed.
